Sure, when we think of dessert, we usually think of rich chocolate or creamy, salty peanut butter. It always has alternative favorite produce returns—strawberries! peaches! blueberries! cherries!—we gravitate toward fruity, chilled desserts that don’t need much effort. Chocolate treats and complicated recipes like oven-baked pies are obviously less attractive when our kitchens are already hot enough to melt. Fortunately, we have a plethora of no-bake and low-effort dishes.
We don’t want to appear to have spent a lot of work on dessert just because we don’t want to. We still want the wow factor of a summer pie, but without having to turn on the oven.
